Why you should introduce an acid into your skincare routine

Now the first time I was told about using acids in skincare I was a bit wary. I mean to anyone who isn’t heavily into skincare, an acid would definitely sound like something strong, and possibly damaging. The truth of the matter is, introducing an acid into your skincare routine can have huge positive impacts in your skin.

There are lots of different acids that have different uses for all skin types. I’m going to talk about a couple of my favourite acids and why I love using them so much!

Omorovicza Acid Fix

Omorovicza is a brand that I have really been loving recently. Their products are quite high end but I always feel like the price is justified because of the results. All of their products are infused with the healing waters of Budapest and they smell gorgeous.

They recently released a new acid and I immediately ordered it as it seemed like the perfect acid for me. I have not been disappointed!

It contains a few different types of acid among other key ingredients and claims to brighten tone, exfoliate, resurface, renew and plump.

Key Ingredients

  • Glycolic acid, a powerful exfoliating AHA, reveals a brighter, clearer, younger and more even-toned complexion.
  • Salicylic acid, also known as Beta Hydroxy Acid, exfoliates the surface of the skin leaving it smooth and soft and also enhances cell renewal and improves pigmentation issues.
  • Lactic acid refines and smoothes the micro-relief of the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

I have been using this acid for the last few weeks since I got it and have noticed a significant improvement in the texture of my skin, which is something that I struggle with. You apply 2 to 3 drops 2-3 times a week and your skin feels so radiant in the morning it’s definitely become one of my favourite skincare products.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads

You may have seen these pop up somewhere on social media in recent months. They are very popular and for good reason!

At such great value and so easy to apply I can see why so many people love these cleansing pads.

Claims: “Unveil younger-looking skin with our innovative Glycolic Fix. 60 radiance-boosting pads, soaked in exfoliating glycolic acid (2.8%) retexture + resurface skin whilst witch hazel helps to tone. This moisturising formula with hyaluronic acid + soothing blue daisy helps to reveal brighter + smoother looking skin.”

The pads are soaked in:
glycolic acid: retextures + resurfaces
hyaluronic acid: moisturises + refreshes
blue daisy: soothes + calms

They come in a little tub and you get 60 pads inside. Simply remove a pad and wipe all over your face or over your problem areas to exfoliate and brighten your skin! A little tip as well, I like to cut these in half so you get 120 pads instead of 60! Half a pad is enough for me to use on my problem areas.

What I also love about these is that they are so gentle, that you can use them everyday and are suitable for sensitive skin, which mine is!

So those are my two favourite acid products, perfect for summer to keep skin feeling fresh and free from congestion.

Take care everyone and see you on the next one,
