Hi everyone welcome back to my blog 😊
For those of you that are new here, my name is Max and I’m a makeup artist living in England. I post reviews of makeup, I do makeup tutorials and other makeup/skincare related things so make sure you subscribe to my blog before you leave so you don’t miss any posts 💕
Today I am doing a tutorial on this Autumn/fall warm smokey eye glam shown above 💄 I’ll take you through how I achieved this look step by step and if you want to see a video on this look then il link my YouTube tutorial down below.
I always start with my brows and my eyeshadow when doing a glam look like this before I do my foundation. Everyone’s different but personally I think it’s easier as I can clean up any messy lines or fallout before I put my foundation on.
Brows: No matter what type of brow I do I always start by running a clear brow gel through my brow hairs to set them in place. I used the brow set by MAC in clear.
Depending on the look that I’m doing that decides what brow products I use and what type of brow I want to achieve. As this is a full glam look I wanted to achieve a really sharp defined brow. My go too for this type of brow is always the MAC fluidline gelcream and I’m in the shade dark brunette. This brow gel glides on like dream and is very longwearing.
A little goes a long long way so I took a little bit of the gel on a small definer brush and ran it through my brow hairs starting a few millimetres in from the start of my brow all the way through to the end creating a sharp tip at the end. I left a small section clear at the start as I like to just take a spoolie and brush the product to the very beginning of the brow so this part looks more natural.
I then took my favourite concealer to clean up my brows, the Maybelline fit me concealer in shade 15. I took this on a small eyeshadow packing brush, and ran it above and below my brows to clean them up.
Eyeshadow: Before I apply shadows I always prime my lids, it just makes blending a lot easier. I used the same concealer that I used to clean up my brows and ran it all over my eyelids. I then blended that out with my beauty blender.
Moving on to the shadows. For this tutorial I used the Morphe 350 palette. It’s a gorgeous warm eyeshadow palette and is perfect for this autumn/fall inspired look.
Tip: To help follow along with applying all the separate eyeshadow colours, perhaps play the YouTube video I linked above at the same time as it’s easier to see it step by step 😄
Shadow 1: I took the bone coloured shadow from the palette and I used that to set the eyeshadow primer so I had a really nice clean base.
Shadow 2: Next I took an orange from the palette and worked that into the crease and took it up to my brow bone but leaving a small gap below my brow which I always like to do. I think it looks a lot cleaner and this area is great for putting a brow bone highlighter.
Shadow 3: For my third shadow I took an even deeper orange and worked that into the cease, not taking it as high as I did the first colour.
Shadow 4: I then took a deep red shadow and packed that onto the lid. I blended that slightly into the other colours so it looked more seamless.
Shadow 5: For my lid shimmer shadow I took a really nice champagne creamy colour and packed that onto the lid. I sprayed the eyeshadow packing brush with some NYX dewy finish setting spray so it picked up more pigment.
Primer: Moving onto the face, I went ahead and primed my skin with the YSL Touche Èclat Blur Primer. I feel that this helps to blur my pores and gives such a nice smooth finish.
Foundation: I used the YSL Touche Èclat Le Teint foundation in shade B40. This is my absolute favourite foundation, it gives an airbrushed finish I’m praying they never discontinue it 🙏. I took a few pumps on to the back of my hand and used a foundation brush to apply it onto my face and neck then used a beauty blender to buff it all out.
Concealer: I used the MAC pro longwear concealer in shade NW20. This is an amazing FULL coverage concealer and it is insanely longwearing, it’s even waterproof! I applied it under my eyes I’m a triangular shape and then blended it out with a beauty blender.
To set the concealer in place I took the RCMA no colour powder on a beauty blender and baked it for about 20 seconds before wiping it away with a powder brush.
To set the rest of the face I used the Maybelline stay matte powder in the shade sand.
For innner corner highlight I used the MARSK pigment. This is a blinding pigment it’s so gorgeous.
Contour: I used the MAC beauty balm in shade dark plus and applied it onto my cheekbones (what exists of them ha) and blended that out with a beauty blender.
Bronzer: I used the Maybelline natural bronzer in shade sun bronze. I took it on a fan brush and applied it onto my cheekbones, forehead, a little on the sides of the nose and under my chin. I baked that contour using the same RCMA no colour powder on my beauty blender.
Blush: For blush I used the Rimmel London Kate trio palette and applied a small amount onto the apple of my cheeks.
Next I did shadow below my eyes. I used the orange shadow that I used after my transition colour and placed it under my eyes using a pencil brush. To smoke that out, I took the vibrant red shadow that I put on my lid before the shimmer shadow using the same pencil brush. I lined my waterline with the L.A girl gel liner in shade very black.
Lips: Moving onto the lips, I used the Jeffree Star Cosmetic velour liquid lipstick in shade Gemini. This is such a gorgeous vibrant red nude! 😍
Setting spray: To set the face I used the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray.
Highlighter: I wanted to golden blinding highlight, so I used the MAC mineralize skin finish in shade Oh darling. This highlighter is EVERYTHING. I took it on a contour brush from real techniques and applied it above my cheekbones, down the bridge of my nose, a little on the chin, Cupid’s bow and the brow bone.
Mascara and false lashes: For mascara I used the Make Up Forever mascara in smoky extravagant. This is a great mascara and I love the effect that it gives but the wand is sooooo big so it does make it difficult to apply to the lower lashes.
For falsies I used the Eyelure enchanted lashes. These are so so pretty and fun.
This is the final look! I hope you like it! I’m really happy with how it turned out 🤩 as you can see it’s a nice warm smokey eye, with a full coverage face, a blinding gold highlight and a gorgeous vibrant nude lip. I’ll link all the products I used at the bottom of this tutorial.
